Blog Gawker Sunday: Her New Leaf

ALKFJLSKJEIFAH!

May I just say I am gawking her like everysingledayever since I discovered her wildly inspiring self?

I pretty much am.

So here's her blog and of course the first thing I do on a new blog I love is check out the DIY/Project section which is totally nifty and amazing (check out her painted mug and braided neck shirt tutorials!)

Kira just seems so sweet and nice and she lives in VENICE so even if she didn't have stinkin' awesome blogging skills she'd still have more cool points than me.

She also blogs about blogging a lot, which is superhandy and full of tips for beginning bloggers (such as yours truly)

Hop on over there and drink in the stupendousness of it all!

Excited for the half marathon, crafty wonderfulness, and PO-TAY-TOES

One, I  have just been perusing the half marathon website.

For the heck of it.

I'MSOEXCITEDAAH!

but now that that's out of the way, I've got lots of other stuff to blog about.  For example, this nifty way to make boiled eggs.  Only you don't boil them, you bake them.  And you can make like, a gazillion and a half at once.  Great tip, especially if you're making copious amounts of devilled eggs for a family reunion or something.

Also in the food department, my dad picked up a giant back of potatoes from Walmart last night and I've been thinking about roasting some of them.

This picture has me cracking up today... totally the story of my life dress the past couple weeks.

I might actually attempt makeup, having seen this beautiful specimen of a simple smoky eye.  No idea if I cam actually pull it off, but hey.  I can try, right? {P.S.--check out The Beauty Department blog!}

I'm liking this wall art idea, as well as this paint chip art -- I'm thinking I have some crafting to do the next few days.

I might have to make an epic crocheted blanket like this while I'm at it too, and maybe put a wocket in the back of my jeans pocket.

Blog Gawker Sunday: Living in Yellow

You may remember last Sunday's The Daybook.

WELL!

Through a lovely guest post on  The Daybook, I found this lovely blog called Living in Yellow.

See how pretty she is?  All cute n' casual in those red heels and T-Shirt.

She is called Erin and has a sense of humor that leaves me giggling for quite awhile after I read her posts.

Perfect pick-me-up after a hard day's Pinterest browsing.  hehe :)

Erin talks about life and shares her spunky and humorous outlook on it in her posts.  Check out her blogging tips and look here for her own little intro to her blog.

Stuff that's blowing my mind today

Happy Saturday, folks!

So today Pinterest, Craftgawker and the like all seem to be hopping with inspiring ideas.

Or maybe it's just me being in a super-easily-inspireable mood.

Either way.

Okay, so my first blowing-my-mind thing (am I overusing dashes today?  hmm.  Just call me Dasher I suppose.  You can be Rudolph or Prancer or Comet or Vixen or any of those, if you like) today is this.

She embarked on a project to fill 365 jars all full of some kind of artsy something or other and release them off into the wild to be found by passerby.

HOWCOOLISTHAT!!!!!!!!!!

thing two:

Thank you, Duitang for giving me this lovely hair idea.  The model and her hair remind me of Meg Ryan back in her long hair, Sleepless in Seattle days.  I need to watch that movie again...

This Clickin Moms article on how to create your own home photography studio -- Super handy dandy!  But not as handy dandy as Steve's notebook, of course.  Is Steve even the name of the Blue's Clues guy any more?  Is Blue's Clues still even on?

Oh good gracious, a world of youth living without Blue's Clues...  That's a scary thought.

Just... yes.

I love whoever came up with it.

The Little Things are Important

....Such as knowing how to tie a bowtie:

....Or taking time to do stuff with your kids:

....Or pillowfighting your best friend.

(and knowing that you totally won)

Two little happy things of my day so far:

I have finally tasted sunshine, I do believe -- there was a pinkish spot on my golden delicious apple, which I (probably stupidly) assume is from extra sun exposure.

It tasted exactly what I imagine sunshine should taste like if I could take a bite out of it.

Sweet, crispy and delicious.

Ooh, also, little happy thing #1 and a half:  I dropped half of said sunshine apple on the floor.  Dog did not eat it.  WIN!

LHT #2:  My Valentine sent me a Valentine.  Through the old fashioned 'merican postal service.  And it had puppies on it.

Heck.

Yes.

I will totally be your Valentine.

For a freakin' year if you want.

Or five.

Or seven.

Or maybe a zillion and ten twelve.

Puppy Valentines through the pony express have some crazy untapped power, if you ask me.

Blog Gawker Sunday: Inspired to Share

Sunday is pretty much my blog-gawkin' day of the week.
I'm sure there's some deep psychological meaning or dysfunction behind my fascination and amazement at all the many beautiful blogs out there.

So naturally, I think to myself, HEY!  Why not spread the psychological dysfunction around??  What a lovely series that would make!

Which leaves us here.

Fine Print:  I totally don't think blog readers are crazy or that there's anything wrong with reading blogs.
DUH.
but I have to say that otherwise I'd lay awake at night thinking, "oh gosh, I really hope no one took that the wrong way..."
I adore and aspire to be like these freakin' talented folks featured (get a load of that annunciation!)

Today, I am hoisting the lovely Inspired to Share upon my modest soapbox.

Ain't she just adorable?

And she writes a SMASHING blog, chock full of inspiring photos and DIY ideas.  (check out her DIY "love" wire & yarn letters and her Monday Moodboards)

I'm kinda freaking out about it.

A Friendly Wave

Hi there!  Here I am.  Nice to meet you!

Here's me pretending I'm a model...
Haha, no, who am I kidding... I'd just finished sprinting my buns over to the fence in a mad dash to beat the self-timer (which I'd stupidly set to 5 seconds)

(This is where you smile to yourself and think "Silly little girl, modeling's for hot chicks and people with camera remotes.")

Anyhoo, I love running very much, as well as pretty much anything Art, DIY, or Pinterest/Craftgawker/Etsy related.  This blog will probably contain a lot of recipes, ramblings, and R-tsy stuff (Shut up, I needed another R) <--crap, I probably should not tell my readers to shut up.  I am a 17-year-old high school graduate planning to study Nursing in the fall (ALSDADLFLKI'MSOEXCITED)

Oh, and I also am a ridiculous fan of Harry Potter.

Not Twilight.

Although I haven't really given Twilight a fair chance.

PS, here's some fine-print:  If you hate Tumblr blogs, you probably won't like mine.  I have a love/hate relationship with Tumblr, but I am a bit of a "snapshot" blogger who posts lots of random Weheartit image compilations and links to bunches of other blog posts and DIY's and stuff.  Assume the images used on this blog are not mine, unless otherwise stated.

The End.
