Blog Gawker Sunday: Her New Leaf
Meet Her New Leaf.
ALKFJLSKJEIFAH!
May I just say I am gawking her like everysingledayever since I discovered her wildly inspiring self?
I pretty much am.
So here's her blog and of course the first thing I do on a new blog I love is check out the DIY/Project section which is totally nifty and amazing (check out her painted mug and braided neck shirt tutorials!)
Kira just seems so sweet and nice and she lives in VENICE so even if she didn't have stinkin' awesome blogging skills she'd still have more cool points than me.
She also blogs about blogging a lot, which is superhandy and full of tips for beginning bloggers (such as yours truly)
Hop on over there and drink in the stupendousness of it all!

Blog Gawker Sunday: Hula Seventy
meet the lovely Hula Seventy.
Oh great scott, how I love this blog. (who even says great scott any more? losers like me apparently. who's scott anyway? and what the heck made him so great? how come they don't say great FRANK? poor frank. I guess he just wasn't as great as scott)
I find all her pictures wildly inspiring.
I can't even think of any specific posts or sections you need to check out, because you need to read all the things.
like right now.
if I must choose something to suggest (which I must, since I feel the need to treat each gawked-on-sunday blog equally here) you look at I'd say check out January: a photo a day -- the end for some beautiful instagram shots.
Also, check out her Etsy shop.
And buy something.
because she's just so cool.

Blog Gawker Sunday: 366 Random Acts of Kindness

So I think this is an amazing idea:
This sweet lady is blogging about her yearlong journey through performing 366 (It's a leapyear, folks) random acts of kindness.
LOVE IT.
She is totally not the kind of person that's like...
"ohmygoshhhhhh look how NICE I am, aren't I great, don't you just LOVE me..." She's just awesome and doing all these random kind things for people.
And she just has great ideas in general, such as becoming a sick kid's pen pal or answering trivia to feed hungry people.
By the way, her name is Ryan.
Hop on over to her blog and do something kind today!
________________________________________________________
big giant correction!
Ryan, I'm so sorry!
read his comment, folks: "Thank you so much for the post! I wanted to clear up a little confusion though. Ryan (me) is a man, and Lindsey (the woman in the pic with my daughter) is my wife."
sooooo actually it's still Ryan, but he's a man. And that darling lady up there is his wife.
one day I'll be a cool mom and wife who DOESN'T make epic fails like this.

Blog Gawker Sunday: Living in Yellow
You may remember last Sunday's The Daybook.
WELL!
Through a lovely guest post on The Daybook, I found this lovely blog called Living in Yellow.
WELL!
Through a lovely guest post on The Daybook, I found this lovely blog called Living in Yellow.
See how pretty she is? All cute n' casual in those red heels and T-Shirt.
She is called Erin and has a sense of humor that leaves me giggling for quite awhile after I read her posts.
Perfect pick-me-up after a hard day's Pinterest browsing. hehe :)
Erin talks about life and shares her spunky and humorous outlook on it in her posts. Check out her blogging tips and look here for her own little intro to her blog.

Blog Gawker Sunday: The Daybook
I've been gawking this blog for awhile now.
Like, reading allllll the posts gawking.
I love Sydney Poulton and her lovely blog.
It brightens my day very much.
So go read The Daybook. It will brighten your day like a ray of sunshine or a bouquet of flowers.
Sydney is quite fashionable and appreciates the little things, which is part of why it makes me so happy -- It's just such a cheery read.
Also, her and her husband are super adorable. And their new baby too!
Check out Awkward and Awesome Thursday and the Friday Giveaways.
Happy 22nd birthday (again)
excuse me, did I say 22nd? I meant to say 52nd... ;)
I hope you eat lots of cake and get lots of Hello Kitty awesomeness today! I LOVE YOU!

In other news.....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my wonderful Mommy!

PS (She'd smack me silly if I didn't put this in here -- She's NOT 52. Not even close. I just always add a ridiculous amount of years to her age because one year, I actually succeeded in making her think she was a year older than she was and have been trying to top that ever since. Mwahaha, I am an evil daughter indeed!Friday, February 17, 2012
B-A-N-A-N-A
Confession:
I have to pause for a second every time I
spell 'banana' (pause) to make sure I don't
just keep going and going like this:
banananananananananananana.
That's all.
Oh, and PS -- look at this bananananana art!
The World on Your Shoulders
I love this tattoo.
And, seeing as my 18th birthday is in
Wonder no more, unless I get a random stroke of inspiration/the perfect idea/the ability to not want to wish I'd gotten something different, I will not be inking my body in honor of my legal adulthood.
*however*, that is not stopping me from gawking all the glorious tattoos out there.
Such as....
Aren't they all just glorious?
Sigh.
Maybe I will get one.
Just to do something irresponsible and very un-adultlike for a change.

The Little Things are Important
....Such as knowing how to tie a bowtie:
....Or taking time to do stuff with your kids:

....Or pillowfighting your best friend.
(and knowing that you totally won)
Two little happy things of my day so far:
I have finally tasted sunshine, I do believe -- there was a pinkish spot on my golden delicious apple, which I (probably stupidly) assume is from extra sun exposure.
It tasted exactly what I imagine sunshine should taste like if I could take a bite out of it.
Sweet, crispy and delicious.
Ooh, also, little happy thing #1 and a half: I dropped half of said sunshine apple on the floor. Dog did not eat it. WIN!
LHT #2: My Valentine sent me a Valentine. Through the old fashioned 'merican postal service. And it had puppies on it.
Heck.
Yes.
I will totally be your Valentine.
For a freakin' year if you want.
Or five.
Or seven.
Or maybe a zillion andten twelve.
Puppy Valentines through the pony express have some crazy untapped power, if you ask me.

The Valenscrooge Strikes Again!
So you know how I went on the other day about how little I enjoy Valentine's Day?
That fact has not changed.
Although, I have to say... I am blessed to have an amazing fella in my life.
This is him.
And like I told Facebook two nights ago, he listens to the words I don't say just as much as he hears the words I say out loud.
If that makes any sense at all.
Hopefully it does.
He's amazing and I could not ask for a better Valentine.
...He's also the guy I automatically think of when I see the beginning of UP!:
Anyways, happy Valentine's Day folks! Do something sweet for someone today, romantical or not. Because there's enough people out there who don't get Valentines.

Blog Gawker Sunday: Inspired to Share
Sunday is pretty much my blog-gawkin' day of the week.
I'm sure there's some deep psychological meaning or dysfunction behind my fascination and amazement at all the many beautiful blogs out there.
So naturally, I think to myself, HEY! Why not spread the psychological dysfunction around?? What a lovely series that would make!
Which leaves us here.
Fine Print: I totally don't think blog readers are crazy or that there's anything wrong with reading blogs.
DUH.
but I have to say that otherwise I'd lay awake at night thinking, "oh gosh, I really hope no one took that the wrong way..."
I adore and aspire to be like these freakin' talented folks featured (get a load of that annunciation!)
Today, I am hoisting the lovely Inspired to Share upon my modest soapbox.
Ain't she just adorable?
And she writes a SMASHING blog, chock full of inspiring photos and DIY ideas. (check out her DIY "love" wire & yarn letters and her Monday Moodboards)
I'm kinda freaking out about it.

Which Flower are you?
I'm yellow. I'm kind of jealous of October, though. Beautiful color.
I used to be jealous of the October birthstone too, wayyy back when my favorite color was pink.
But now I'm perfectly happy with my current birthstone.

ValenScrooge
I'm a bit of a Valentine's scrooge.
'Nuf said.
However, though I've said enough, I'm going to keep blabbering on about how stupid Valentine's day because I love to bore you just ramble like that.
It's not that I'm alone or that my boyfriend isn't perfectly wonderful.
Because I'm not.
And he is.
But there's just something about so many people not having what I have that makes me dislike Valentine's Day very much. That, and all the massive quantities of pink and chocolate.
Bleh.
