Excited for the half marathon, crafty wonderfulness, and PO-TAY-TOES

One, I  have just been perusing the half marathon website.

For the heck of it.

I'MSOEXCITEDAAH!

but now that that's out of the way, I've got lots of other stuff to blog about.  For example, this nifty way to make boiled eggs.  Only you don't boil them, you bake them.  And you can make like, a gazillion and a half at once.  Great tip, especially if you're making copious amounts of devilled eggs for a family reunion or something.

Also in the food department, my dad picked up a giant back of potatoes from Walmart last night and I've been thinking about roasting some of them.

This picture has me cracking up today... totally the story of my life dress the past couple weeks.

I might actually attempt makeup, having seen this beautiful specimen of a simple smoky eye.  No idea if I cam actually pull it off, but hey.  I can try, right? {P.S.--check out The Beauty Department blog!}

I'm liking this wall art idea, as well as this paint chip art -- I'm thinking I have some crafting to do the next few days.

I might have to make an epic crocheted blanket like this while I'm at it too, and maybe put a wocket in the back of my jeans pocket.

Mantra Monday!

insert other statement instead of ugly... "I am ______ and I'm proud!" because you are not ugly.  Not at all :)

I need to go run right now but instead I am blogging about it

....I also need to unpack from a weekend working out at camp (OHMYGOSHITWASSOGREATTOBEBACK) and get some laundry in.

sigh.

at least it's sunny today :)

But yeah.  I kinda really don't feel like running right now but I'm running out of time so my plan is to take a few minutes, jot out a blog post while simultaneously drinking in some "fitspiration".

can I do it?

Time will tell. (and also the degree of frazzleness in my hair)

ooh, this picture is pretty.  Random Tumblr find.

speaking of which, Tumblr changed their little toolbar thingy when you log in.  gasp.

Back on topic:  Fitspiration.
I've been kinda sorta doing this:

But not religiously-- I've been altering it a little with sit ups and regular planks and other random core workouts.  and wouldn't you know it, I think my abs actually are getting stronger!  Who'da thunk it.  And it doesn't take long, either... just a few minutes a day to get those core muscles engaged.

Also, I found this site through Pinterest last night.  Lots of great exercises and how to do them, which is fantastic for someone like me who still knows nearly nothing (get a load of that annunciation!) about exercise.

I am loving this sticker from Milestones Jewelry  (only three bucks!) and getting kind of scared excited for the half... I almost figured up how many weeks it is until the race but then I stopped myself because I think that'd just make me scared.

And in the midst of typing that I accidentally figured it up.

six weeks.

gasp.

doable.

I think.

I hope.

Yeah, I'm going to go run now.

Blog Gawker Sunday: 366 Random Acts of Kindness

So I think this is an amazing idea:

This sweet lady is blogging about her yearlong journey through performing 366 (It's a leapyear, folks) random acts of kindness.

LOVE IT.

She is totally not the kind of person that's like...
"ohmygoshhhhhh look how NICE I am, aren't I great, don't you just LOVE me..." She's just awesome and doing all these random kind things for people.

And she just has great ideas in general, such as becoming a sick kid's pen pal or answering trivia to feed hungry people.

By the way, her name is Ryan.

Hop on over to her blog and do something kind today!
________________________________________________________
big giant correction!
Ryan, I'm so sorry!
read his comment, folks: "Thank you so much for the post! I wanted to clear up a little confusion though. Ryan (me) is a man, and Lindsey (the woman in the pic with my daughter) is my wife."

sooooo actually it's still Ryan, but he's a man.  And that darling lady up there is his wife.

one day I'll be a cool mom and wife who DOESN'T make epic fails like this.

Blog Gawker Sunday: Living in Yellow

You may remember last Sunday's The Daybook.

WELL!

Through a lovely guest post on  The Daybook, I found this lovely blog called Living in Yellow.

See how pretty she is?  All cute n' casual in those red heels and T-Shirt.

She is called Erin and has a sense of humor that leaves me giggling for quite awhile after I read her posts.

Perfect pick-me-up after a hard day's Pinterest browsing.  hehe :)

Erin talks about life and shares her spunky and humorous outlook on it in her posts.  Check out her blogging tips and look here for her own little intro to her blog.

B-A-N-A-N-A

Confession:

I have to pause for a second every time I
spell 'banana' (pause) to make sure I don't
just keep going and going like this:
banananananananananananana.

That's all.

Oh, and PS -- look at this bananananana art!

The World on Your Shoulders

I love this tattoo.

And, seeing as my 18th birthday is in 75 days (not that I'm counting) the fact that I am posting about tattoos may cause you to wonder.

Wonder no more, unless I get a random stroke of inspiration/the perfect idea/the ability to not want to wish I'd gotten something different, I will not be inking my body in honor of my legal adulthood.

*however*, that is not stopping me from gawking all the glorious tattoos out there.

Such as....

Aren't they all just glorious?

Sigh.

Maybe I will get one.

Just to do something irresponsible and very un-adultlike for a change.

The Little Things are Important

....Such as knowing how to tie a bowtie:

....Or taking time to do stuff with your kids:

....Or pillowfighting your best friend.

(and knowing that you totally won)

Two little happy things of my day so far:

I have finally tasted sunshine, I do believe -- there was a pinkish spot on my golden delicious apple, which I (probably stupidly) assume is from extra sun exposure.

It tasted exactly what I imagine sunshine should taste like if I could take a bite out of it.

Sweet, crispy and delicious.

Ooh, also, little happy thing #1 and a half:  I dropped half of said sunshine apple on the floor.  Dog did not eat it.  WIN!

LHT #2:  My Valentine sent me a Valentine.  Through the old fashioned 'merican postal service.  And it had puppies on it.

Heck.

Yes.

I will totally be your Valentine.

For a freakin' year if you want.

Or five.

Or seven.

Or maybe a zillion and ten twelve.

Puppy Valentines through the pony express have some crazy untapped power, if you ask me.

Go Outside

(Found on Etsy, available for purchase)

Unless it's raining.

But dancing in the rain could be kinda fun too...

A Friendly Wave

Hi there!  Here I am.  Nice to meet you!

Here's me pretending I'm a model...
Haha, no, who am I kidding... I'd just finished sprinting my buns over to the fence in a mad dash to beat the self-timer (which I'd stupidly set to 5 seconds)

(This is where you smile to yourself and think "Silly little girl, modeling's for hot chicks and people with camera remotes.")

Anyhoo, I love running very much, as well as pretty much anything Art, DIY, or Pinterest/Craftgawker/Etsy related.  This blog will probably contain a lot of recipes, ramblings, and R-tsy stuff (Shut up, I needed another R) <--crap, I probably should not tell my readers to shut up.  I am a 17-year-old high school graduate planning to study Nursing in the fall (ALSDADLFLKI'MSOEXCITED)

Oh, and I also am a ridiculous fan of Harry Potter.

Not Twilight.

Although I haven't really given Twilight a fair chance.

PS, here's some fine-print:  If you hate Tumblr blogs, you probably won't like mine.  I have a love/hate relationship with Tumblr, but I am a bit of a "snapshot" blogger who posts lots of random Weheartit image compilations and links to bunches of other blog posts and DIY's and stuff.  Assume the images used on this blog are not mine, unless otherwise stated.

The End.
